POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidate must be able to function independently.
Will assess and manage disease processes for CKD and ESRD patients.
Provide patient education and coordinate patient care between hospitals, dialysis facilities and other institutions.
Ordering and interpretation of medications, laboratory and imaging studies appropriate for this population.
The successful candidate will participate in pre-ESRD outpatient care and may see some hospital patients.
Participate in department and dialysis facility QA/QI processes, department educational programs, training of University house staff, and research programs of the University.
Maintain appropriate licensure and certification as registered nurse, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Masters degree or greater in Nursing.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
Kentucky Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) within two years of employment.
Kentucky Nursing License.
CPR certification.
EXPERIENCE:
Two years as a nurse practitioner if no renal experience.
Prefer previous renal experience.
